Considering the fact that Las Vegas audiences have seen and done almost everything already by the time they get to the Las Vegas events and concerts, it is only natural for them to be somewhat jaded by the time they spend their money and sit in the seats and wait to be blown away. While Presley came back years later and made a tremendous comeback, it is interesting to note that, in Las Vegas, everyone is equal and the show is more important than any single person.
Until sometime in the future when technology allows the Las Vegas shows to become more and more spectacular, for the present, they are simply unmatched and unparalleled around the world for their complexity, beauty and over all effectiveness as a crowd pleasing spectacle that attracts attention from all over the world and all walks of life. In the future, one can only imagine how incredibly sensational the shows might be with all kinds of amazing technology that is just becoming available to these types of performers and show organizers. These Las Vegas concerts in the modern day continue to follow this credo and motto, making sure that every single performance is just as over-the-top as it can possibly be in keeping with the traditions of the past. And blown away they are, with amazing performances by over-the-top entertainers such as Elton John and Bette Midler Las Vegas show in the modern day, paying tribute to Trailblazers such as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, progenitors of the tradition of the Las Vegas performances.
With the standards set by the King of rock ‘n roll himself and performers such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., it is not surprising at all that the modern day generation of performers feel that their audiences need the tremendous the tremendous volume of performances and entertainers that participate in each show with the extremely complex choreography and overwhelmingly difficult to follow dialogue to compete with these forerunners and pioneers of the Las Vegas sound. In the early days of Las Vegas on the strip, there were few musicians that performed with more than the normal sized band that they toured with.
With the advent of performers that made Las Vegas a permanent location for performances on a long-term basis, the showcases and choreography began to get more and more over the top and lavishly designed to blow the audiences mind again and again. When Elvis Presley first began performing in Las Vegas, it was in the 50s, before it had even become famous. Just as he was leaving with his tail stuck between his legs, his single recording Hound Dog went straight to the top of the charts and just as he was exiting Las Vegas, the King was literally born in the desert sands.
